Beat Detector is a blinkl.io extension that analyzes any audio clip in your timeline and lays a marker on every beat it finds.
No tap-tempo, no manual alignment: the analysis is local, near-instant, and works for music, podcasts, and dialogue with a strong cadence.
The goal: turn music edits into a creative task, not a counting one.

Is Beat Detector free?
Yes. Beat Detector ships with the free blinkl.io install. No account, no credit card.
Does it work on any music?
Best results come from tracks with a clear percussive layer (most modern music). Songs without drums (ambient, classical) may produce sparse results.
Is the audio uploaded somewhere?
No. Detection runs locally on your machine. The audio never leaves your computer.
Can I edit the markers afterwards?
Yes. The markers are standard Premiere markers. You can move, delete, rename, or color them like any other.
What about After Effects?
Premiere Pro 2024+ on macOS 11+ and Windows 10+ today. After Effects is on the roadmap.
