DESCRIPTION

Plan your vertical edit around the interface.

Capture a frame from your active sequence, compare platform layouts and bring the guides into Premiere Pro.

Vertical Preview is a blinkl.io extension for Premiere Pro that overlays simulated TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts interfaces on a frame captured at your playhead.

Select one or several platforms, adjust their reference variants and text, then switch between Interface, Zones only and Common area to check where your titles and subjects sit.

Apply your settings explicitly to add a transparent PNG guide on a separate video track for each selected platform. Updating a platform reuses its guide track.

Before export: applied guides can appear in the rendered video. To remove them, clear the platform selection and apply again. Hiding the panel preview only changes the panel.

WORKFLOW

Check the frame. Place the guides. Keep editing.

Four steps from the active 9:16 sequence to platform guides in your timeline.

01 / Capture

Start with the frame you are editing.

Place the playhead in your active square-pixel 9:16 sequence and capture the current frame. Existing Vertical Preview guides are temporarily hidden during capture, then restored.

02 / Customize

Check the layouts that matter.

Choose TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts, individually or together. Adjust each platform’s reference variant, captions and interface options independently.

03 / Compare

See the areas to avoid.

Switch from simulated interfaces to zones only, or show a conservative common safe area for all selected platforms. Adjust opacity to keep the captured frame readable.

04 / Apply

Put a guide on each platform’s track.

Apply in Premiere creates transparent PNG guides on separate video tracks above the edit. Later changes reuse those tracks; clearing the selection and applying removes the guides.

FAQ

Know what changes in your project.

Which sequences can I use?
Use an active 9:16 sequence with square pixels, such as 720 × 1280 or 1080 × 1920. Save the Premiere Pro project before applying guides.
Can I preview several platforms together?
Yes. Select one or more of TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Interface view overlays the selected layouts, while Common area shows a conservative shared safe area.
Is the captured frame a live video preview?
No. Capture current frame takes a still at the playhead. After moving the playhead or changing the sequence, capture again to refresh the image.
Do settings immediately change my timeline?
No. Platform choices, text and opacity remain draft settings until you click Apply in Premiere. Capture current frame does not apply those settings.
Will the guides appear in my export?
Yes, applied guide clips can appear in Premiere exports. Clear the platform selection and click Apply in Premiere to remove them. Hide preview affects only the panel and does not hide the tracks in Premiere.
Where are guide files stored?
The transparent PNG guides are stored in a .vertical-preview folder beside the saved Premiere Pro project. Keep that folder with the project so its guide media stays available.
Are these official safe-area specifications?
No. The layouts simulate platform interfaces and the zones are conservative editing references. Actual interfaces can vary by device, language and platform changes. Check the final result on your target devices.
Which Adobe app is supported?
Vertical Preview is built for Premiere Pro. The current manifest does not declare After Effects support.
